2005 06 01 Co-founded the Institute of Museum Studies in TNUA with National Museum of Natural Science
The purpose of this institution is to equip students with the ability of research on museum exhibitions and education, planning, design and etc.; to improve the professions of museum workers, and to promote the development of local museology and museum ethnographical knowledge. We emphasize the importance of basic museum research; provide teaching and learning spaces for integration of arts, humanity and science, as well as practical experience exchange platform and opportunities.

2.Research Proposal: including oral interview (50% of the total score)
2005 08 01 President Chu Kun-Laing assumed the position of the 1st director of the institute.  
2006 02 01 President Chu left for the chairman of CCA. President Ju Tzong-Ching was reappointed as the 1st director of the institute  
2006 07 01 Preparatory Office of the Performing Arts Museum was founded. Since the establishment of the Institution of Museum Studies, the school wanted to combine its teaching on performing arts with museum profession; therefore, the Preparatory Office of the Performing Arts Museum was founded in 2006. Since 2007, the institution collectd the artifacts and archives of the school’s history. Combining the collections with curriculum, the teachers and students of the institution jointly carried out “The University History Plan”, “The Great Masters Online Project” and “The University Digital Archive Collection”, while completing various exhibitions.
2006 08 01 Professor Wang Sung-Shan was seconded to the institute from the National Museum of Natural Science, and appointed as the 2nd director.  
2006 09 14-15 “Making Museum”—The 2nd Biennial Conference of Museum Studies

2007 04 27 Curated the exhibition:“The Retrospective of Yao Yi-Wei—Pioneer of Modern Theater in Taiwan”
  • Date:Apr. 27th to Jun. 3rd, 2007
  • Venu:  Kuandu Art Museum (Taipei)
  • To commemorate the 10th anniversary of Yao Yi-Wei’s death and show Yao’s contribution to theater and drama education in Taiwan, the exhibition is divided into four parts: “The Art of Yao Yi-Wei’s Drama”, “Yao Yi-Wei as an Educator”, “The Pilot of Theater Movement in Taiwan” and “Remembrance Forever”. It displays stage models, costumes, manuscripts and calligraphies, a setting of Yao’s study to give visitors a picture of Yao’s characteristics and his contribution and achievements in theatre education and creation. 
2007 10 15 Curated “The Ways of Artistic Creation— An exhibition of 2007 TNUA Honorary Doctorates of Art”
  • Date: Oct. 15th to Nov. 10th , 2007
  • Venue: TNUA Traditional Art and Creation Resource Center (Taipei)
  • This exhibition traces the time tracks of four internationally renowned honorary doctorates—composer Ma Shui-Long, choreographer Lin Hwai-Min, dancing stage designer Li Ming-Kok and musician Mstislav Rostropovich, and explore deep into the masters’ way of creation.
2007 12 06-08 Held The TNUA 2007 Symposium on Culture Resources  
2007     Passed the higher education evaluation and accreditation  
2008 05   The preparatory office of Performing Arts Museum accomplished website for TNUA History and Collection. In 2007, after being subsidized with 1.5 million from the Teaching Excellence Project of the Ministry of Education, the Institution of Museums studies coordinate and carried out “the university history implementation plan”. , this plan developed metadata content and record the history of TNUA, to share the development and memories.
2008 05 15 Curated “TNUA  in Motion”— The history of TNUA
  • Date: May. 15th to Jun. 30th, 2008
  • Venue: TNUA Center for Continuing Education (Taipei)
  • By using flashbacks, audio-visual presentations and artifacts, this exhibition led the audiences back to TNUA’s important moments of Kuandu campus, “moving from LuJou to Kuandu”, LuJou campus, preparatory period and etc., reproducing the past and the relocation of TNUA. 
2008 07 11 Preparatory Office of the Centre for Museum and Cultural Heritage Studies The core of this office is to “develop professional museums workers”, “conduct visitor research” and “enhance the public with communicating skills on humanity, social science and museum studies. Five key areas: “training”, “international exchange”, “knowledge management”, “community management” and “research and development” are explored to cultivate museum professionals.

  • Description: With the change of time and scene, years are spent unconsciously. Have you ever notice the scenes around you? From LuJou to Kuandu,, from National Institute of Art to Taipei National University of the Arts, the seemingly familiar and silent steles, buffalos, clock tower, mosaic walls, and hidden bird and frog are telling their story, and the story continues…… 
2009 10 10 The 1st issue of the electronic newsletter “eMnews An electronic newsletter edited by the teachers and students of the institution. Content contains: Feature articles, exhibition activities and messages, press releases, recent developments of museums, lectures, courses, learning activities and etc.

2010 7   Finish planning the website “ Seeing the music, hearing the painting— Ma Shui-Long’s world of music language
  • Date: Aug. , 2008-Jul. , 2010
  • This project collects important information and manuscript of Professor Ma’s biography and creation. It is presented in a digital database format to enrich the school’s teaching resources on performing arts.

2011 09 26 The official launch of TNUA Digital Collection , conducted by the Preparatory Office of Performing Arts Museum and the Computer Center
  • From Nov. 10th, 2010 to Sep, 2011. 
  • This digital collection enables all departments of TNUA to digitalize their collection, archives and performing artifacts for the purposes of teaching and research.
2011 10 12 Curated the exhibition “Motion in Stillness—The Artistry of Yen Lu Wong & Her Contributions to Taiwan”
  • Date: Oct. 12th to 24th, 2011
  • Venue: TNUA Library (Taipei)
  • Description: Modern dancer Yen Lu Wong was born in 1942 in Kunming, China. While studying in medical school in the US, she studied dancing with Martha Graham, and later learned the Laban Movement Analysis from Bartenieff. Wong gave modern dance in Taiwan a new vision in 1968, came to teach the Laban Movement Analysis in Taiwan in 1990 and held lectures in TNUA in 2009. In 2010, Wong donated books and artifacts to TNUA for educational purposes, which are now collected by the library and the Graduate Institute of Museum Studies. This exhibition is to present the elegance of the artifacts and the spirit of her dance.

2012 01   Alumnus Ying-Jen Lin obtained scholarship (The discipline of Cultural Heritage /Museum ) from the Ministry of Education  
2012 02 01 Assistant professor Jan-I Liao returned to faculty.  
2012 02 12-17 2012 Overseas fieldtrip :Hong Kong Museums and its cultural heritages The teaching objective is to understand the management system of Hong Kong museums and cultural heritages; and to understand the concepts of interpretation and communication that Hong Kong museums imply on “history” and “culture”
2012 05 23 Signed an academic exchange agreement with National Taiwan Science Educational Center  
2012 05 28 Conducted self-evaluation for the institute.  
2012 08 01 Associate Professor Chen Chia-li appointed as 3rd director of the institute.

2012 10 10 “Nurture with benevolence & art”—TNUA 30th Anniversary Exhibition
  • Date: Oct. 10th to Nov. 8th, 2012 (Taipei)
  • Venu: TNUA Administration Building
  • Description: To coordinate with the 30th anniversary of TNUA, this exhibition traces back to the brief history of the school’s development, school anthem, motto and philosophy. It also introduces the roles of the successive presidents, who inherited the past and ushered in the future, and how they led the school to continue to prosper, in order to give the audience a further understanding of TUNA’s rich past.
